Flyfishing spring bass

Hi all,

kinda cool afternoon. Long story short...a month ago i get random message on youtube from a guy who seen my vids ....turns out he is re-locating to dryden from scotland. Last week a message he has arrived....this morning a message about going fishing...an hour later we are in the boat....no jokes about meeting men on the internet allowed!

Anyway....Scott turns out to be super nice guy, rarely meet folks into fishing that are not good folk.

Scott is an avid flyfisherman and was keen to give it a shot up here for bass and pike. He makes his own rods and christened his new one today with a few pike and bass(the cedar wood handle he crafted on his rod

Walleye closer..... in front of the house!

Hi all,

Was a little bit bummed out that i pulled night shifts the day before and on actual close of walleye season. But i did manage 20 very tired minutes in front of the house before going in for the 2nd night shift.

Very productive 20 minutes too....3 nice fish.

That 21" hit seconds after saying "i dont think i'll get any big ones"......lol...not the worlds largest but she hit like a frieght train and inhaled a 5" sucker minnow. She was hooked deep, but swam away after a pic, hope she was ok.

Bass and a laker

Hi all,

Me again...lol.

Went out for some lakers today. With the water temps hovering just above 40 degrees F i spent the first hour and a half trolling the shallows with a variety of rigs/jigs/spoons and hardbaits.....with only a pike to show for it. I then spent another hour checking out deeper water with no reward. I decided to get some relief and targeted bass on a spot i know....they were there in numbers!

Jig and minnow did the damage. They were in 14'FOW behind a windswept shaol. Man....the wind was relentless today......all i can say is that the I-pilot did its job flawlessly again....i really cant sing it's praises enough....i

Move around to catch lakers

A lot of anglers will just setup still lines with minnows and wait for the trout to bite. Well. They will be waiting a long time. Yes, you might get a few, but on most lakes it's far and few between. Some lakes the trout will hit all day long on anything (I have been to some of these lakes) and other lakes the trout are slower and more finicky. In my opinion a sonar is a must. Some trout will hit if you jig on the bottom, but a lot of trout won't strike until provoked and you have them chase your lure. I went out a few days ago and left my sonar at home....I forgot it. It killed me. It's like forgetting your kid at the shopping mall. I knew at that moment I wasn't getting loads of fish because how was I going to know if a trout was even around my hole, let alone get it to strike my

Perch Burgers

I found this recipe for Perch Burgers and its delicious!!

You need to start with 2 large bowls... one for dry and the other for wet mix.

These are approx measurements, but you can put as much or as little ingredients as you want.

~~~~ 1st Bowl ~~~~
Perch-- ( No bones of skin ) 1.5 - 2 lbs Boil water and cook your fish until cooked, drain water, and cool. Flakes apart in bowl.
